Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Kuş works at the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul University, conducting research on digital misinformation, hate speech, and toxic digital content. He completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, and obtained his master’s degree from the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University. During this time, he was at Vilnius University, where he conducted field researchin Lithuania.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Social Sciences Institute of Istanbul University with a thesis on the intersection of new media, migration, and public relations. During this period, he also conducted research related to his doctoral thesis at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany and the Centre for Migration and Urban Studies at Tartu University in Estonia.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Oğuz Kuş conducts research on the societal impacts of new media using
methodologies specific to new media. He is the principal investigator of the TÜBİTAKsupported project titled “Conceptualizing Digital Migration: Digital Migration, Digital Migrants, and Digital Diasporas in Biometric Cyber Space (DİJİGÖÇ/MEN).” Additionally, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic public relations and social network analysis.
