Elif Karakoç Keslin completed her undergraduate degree in Journalism at Istanbul University in 2015. In 2018, she graduated with a master’s thesis titled “Reading Ableist Attitudes Towards Women in Turkish Media” from the Department of Communication Sociology at the Istanbul University Social Sciences Institute. She then pursued her doctoral studies at the same university, completing her dissertation on “Recommendation Systems on Digital Platforms from the Perspective of Critical Algorithm Studies: A Research on User Motivations,” supported by the YÖK 100/2000 Doctoral Scholarship Program.


Currently, she teaches undergraduate courses at Yeditepe University Faculty of Communication and continues her academic publications and activities in the fields of digital technologies and new media. She is also a researcher in the TÜBİTAK-supported project titled “Conceptualizing Digital Migration: Digital Migration, Digital Migrants, and Digital Diasporas in Biometric Cyber Space (DİJİGÖÇ/MEN).”
